Step-by-Step Guide
Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
Navigate to the Yoast SEO settingsby clicking on "Yoast SEO" in the left-hand menu.
Open the Redirect Managerby selecting theRedirectstab.
Add a new redirectby clicking the "Add redirect" button or using the interface at the top of the screen.
Configure the redirectby filling in the following information:
Choose the Redirect type: A301 Moved Permanentlyis the default and correct choice for a permanent redirect, which passes the SEO value to the new URL.
Old URL: Enter the original URL path (the one you want to redirect from). You can typically enter just the portion after your domain name (e.g.,/old-page).
New URL: Enter the destination URL where you want visitors and search engines to be sent (e.g.,/new-pageor the full URLhttps://example.com/new-page).
Save the redirectby clicking theAdd redirectbutton.
Test the redirectby visiting the old URL in your browser to ensure it automatically takes you to the new destination.
