Personally, I’ll do a mix of all three. Some I’ll just accept, some I’ll regenerate until they’re shorter and more useful, and some I’ll edit manually. The tool lets you do 50 at a time, so I do a batch when I have a few minutes free.
This tool is pretty limited overall, but this image alt text feature is really well done. If you're using Squarespace, I definitely recommend checking it out. And if you have images missing alt text, try one of these three methods.
